Things are looking up!

So, still no pictures but things are going better in my life.

I already posted about my change in shifts at work which will start monday and i am still super excited about that. I now have more exciting news- I got the apartment i’ve wanted for the last 7 mths! I looked at it before moving into my last one and didn’t get it but as i briefly mentioned before, the people who currently live downstairs from me are absolute and total psychos- to a point i didn’t feel safe being there- and i had to move again. So, i just so happen to go past the other place and see a for rent sign in the window and call and i got it this time. It is really small but super nice- i have a dishwasher and a laundry room and nice  high qaulity appliances and everything i want. It is kind of loft style with no real bedroom, just a little wall kind of thing but it is beautiful!!!  There is also a ton of storage downstairs- a storage room the size of the apartment actually, so i can have all my everyday necessities around and put all the extra holiday stuff, entertaining stuff etc down in the basement because i won’t need it everyday… I am just so excited about it!!! I feel it was meant to be and it is the reason behind me having to deal with the crazies downstairs so i would have to move and get this amazing apartment. I’m moving as much as possible this weekend. Once i get settled in, I can get back to my normal routines, or i suppose start up some new routines since my schedule is going to be different… Only one more week of craziness…

Not such a good start

I guess it was kind of a bad time to decide to blog- I am in a bit of a transistional state and keeping up my routines has been tough, let alone adding something entirely new…

I still can’t seem to get the camera to upload pics….

But i will keep trying, and once i get it working i will post my daily meals.

I am still trying to find a new apartment and staying with my friend in the meantime.

Some exciting news is that I get to change my work schedule! I will be working 9-5:30 and I have every friday and every other weekend off from work. Which means I get three day weekends every other week!!! That will be exciting. I am most excited because I get to be home in the evenings to make real dinners which I think will make it much easier for me to stay on track… Not sure what my new gym schedule will be- depends on where I am living I suppose.

Anyways- today has been a good day. I got lots of errand running done, stocked up on movies from the library for a weekend of snuggly nights on the couch, went to the gym and got a great workout and got the apartment cleaned… and i’m going to actually cook a real dinner tonight! Certainly the best day i’ve had all week!

Maybe not…

I seem to be having real issues with getting the pictures up here- it’s not wordpress anymore, it’s just my camera now…. I figure i will still blog without the pics until i am able to figure it out… It won’t be as fun but not much i can do right now…

What I Ate Today-

Breakfast- 1 cup nonfat plain yogurt, 3 large sliced strawberries, 3/4 of a small banana and a 1/4cup of kashi mountain medley granola(free sample). Also had 2 small cups coffee with non dairy creamer and splenda. (The granola was quite tasty!)

Pre-work Snack- Large Plate of kale chips made w/ cooking spray and sea salt (I discovered these via Kath and am now absolutely addicted!!! I will seriously eat them everyday as long as i have Kale-no joke)

Lunch-2 mini whole wheat pitas w/ 1 laughing cow lite garlic herb cheese wedge and stuffed w/sauteed veggies(eggplant, zuchinni, summer sqaush, red and green pepper, mushrooms and red onion w/olive oil, basil, balsamic, salt, pepper and garlic), 6 honey wheat pretzel sticks and a carrot

I did not plan well for my lunch today and it was just kind of random and not at all balanced and i ended up starving all afternoon which led to…..

Trouble (aka dinner with the prone to junk food “roomate”)…

Dinner- 1 pc chicken finger pizza and chicken wings w/blue cheese dressing and 2 beers!!!! No good, I really can not let myself get that hungry because I nearly always make bad decsions. It tasted good but it doesn’t make me feel good :(

Oh well, tomorrow is a new day- hopefully one with pictures to share!

Let’s get started…

I figured a good place to start with a food blog would be some grocery shots, so here you go…

I actually can’t seem to get my images uploaded for some reason- although i’ve spent the last hour trying to get two stinkin’ pics up… My more tech savvy friend will be home later tonight and maybe she can help but for now, I’ll just give you the list…
Produce:

I get paid every two weeks and generally only shop every two weeks besides picking up things like milk or bananas- it’s why it looks like a ton of food. I was also out of a lot of basics this time too!

homemade vegetable ravioli

I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see…

A couple  other quick things-

-I am new to this whole blogging thing, so things may be a little sub par until i fully figure it out lol…

-I am not staying at my own house right now due to a ridiculous situation with my downstairs neighbors. So, i packed up all my food and my dog and some other necessities and I am staying with a friend until I can move- hopefully in the next two weeks. So, I am going to try to stay consistent with my eating habits but they don’t have fun pretty dishes like me so the pics won’t be quite as exciting:)

-I work noon-8:30 so my posting schedule will likely be: posting breakfast before work and then a rest of the day wrap up at night

-With the whole work schedule, I am still trying to figure out what meal schedule works best for me. Right now I eat breakfast around 8, a pre work snack around 11:30, lunch on my 2 o’clock break, a small snack on my 6 o’clock break and then dinner after work around 9 or so… This schedule works for me only because I have a chance to cook dinner and i LOVE to cook, but i do not like eating so late because then i just feel tired and lazy, so that schedule may change…
